Malaika plays superwoman in Om Shanti Om

If you thought Malaika Arora Khan has vanished from the silver screen, well you are wrong. She is all set to appear in Farah Khan's next venture Om Shanti Om. Malaika was approached by Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment which is producing this film.

In the film, Malaika plays a superwoman clad in red gown and flying off rooftops. Her character is sweet and funny and something she hasn't ever done before. The interesting part is that Malaika acted in the film for free. She says that she did the part for Farah Khan who is a dear friend. But Farah and Shah Rukh surprised Malaika by sending her a gift hamper of cards, flowers, a Tag Heuer watch and cell phone. Malaika adds that they thoughts she desperately need a new phone and they therefore got her one.

Malaika and her hubby Arbaaz Khan also shot for KBC 3 with Shah Rukh Khan. They won Rs. 12.50 lakhs on the game show which the two donated to St Anthony's Home For The Aged in Bandra.

Shah Rukh Khan is known to be very considerate towards his co-stars in films.

It is not an uncommon knowledge that SRK often gives gifts, writes thank-you notes or throws parties to express his hospitality towards his co-stars and even crewmembers.

And when he takes on the role of a producer, it goes without saying that those working with SRK will surely get a taste of his hospitality.

Shreyas Talpade and Malaika Arora are among those who have recently been touched by SRK's compassion. The two are working in Farah Khan's next film 'Om Shanti Om', produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment.

It is learnt that on the very first day of shooting, SRK asked Shreyas what he liked to each for lunch. Shreyas told him that he was very fond of Gulab Jamuns. Then what, from the next day onward, Shreyas's lunch invariably contained Gulab Jamuns.

However, Shreyas has a very absurd way of eating Gulab Jamuns. He dips them in dahi (curd) before eating them. When SRK saw Shreyas eating Gulab Jamuns this way, he said: 'Gulab Jamun ki to waat laga di'.

And then on Shreya's birthday, SRK and Farah Khan gave him a surprise gift. They gifted him a huge card that was signed by everyone in the shooting unit.

'Om Shanti Om' also has Malaika Arora playing a small role as a superwoman who dresses in a red gown and hops over the rooftops.

After Malaika completed the shooting of her scenes in the film she received a gift hamper from SRK and Farah. The hamper contained flowers, greeting cards, a Tag Heuer watch and a cell phone.

Malaika says the hamper contained exactly the things she needed.

'It is these sweet little gestures and personal touches by Red Chillies Entertainment that makes it so much fun to work with them,' says Malaika.

'Om Shanti Om' is a love story set in Bollywood. The film's first half will be set in 1970s. Art designer Sabu Cyril has created the film's sets.

The film also stars Deepika Padukone (opposite SRK), Kiron Kher and Arjun Rampal. Farah is roping in several Bollywood celebrities to make cameo appearances in the movie.

Well what we say is indeed true and it really happened in Mumbai! But hold on to your horses, as it was for one of the scenes of Farah Khan's second directorial venture, 'Om Shanti Om'.

As is now clear, Farah's movie is set in the psychedelic 70's and Shah Rukh Khan plays a struggling actor. For one of the big dramatic scenes, King Khan (with a funny wig) had to grapple with a tiger, a la Dharmendra, but thankfully it was a stuffed one!

A major part of the shoot (which was held in Bombay's Film City) got over last month and after Shah Rukh Khan gets through the remaining episodes of 'KBC', 'Om Shanti Om' is expected to move outdoors.

The movie that marks the Bollywood debut of the sensational model Deepika Padukone (daughter of badminton ace Prakash Padukone), is all set to release during the last quarter of 2007.

It is true. These heroics were performed by SRK just a few days back on the sets of Om Shanthi Om, his home production being directed by Farah Khan.

It was SRK, reportedly grappling with bear hands against a fully grown tiger; that had been killed long time back and stuffed.

SRK was reportedly wearing a crazy looking wig during the wrestling match.The crazy wig only seems appropriate, after all the scene appears nothing short of crazy.

This scene gives us a faint idea of what the film will be like. Surely, we are not having a mushy SRK love story on the cards. We have something different, may be shockingly different on hand. Om Shanthi Om.

Choreographer turned director Farah Khan made headlines when she composed a Bollywood style 'Hips Don't Lie' for pop sensation Shakira in a US concert. And now, Farah is rumoured to be doing it again - with Shakira performing an item number in her upcoming flick Om Shanti Om!

However, Farah is maddened by false hearsays about her film. Contrary to wandering gossips, she asserts, "Shakira is not doing an item number in my film. This is just a rumour". This piece of rumour could have taken its roots from Shakira coming down to India for a concert on Sunday, 25th March. She writes this off as hogwash, exclaiming, "I don't know who is spreading all this!"

Farah's younger brother Sajid Khan, who is completing Hey Baby, has been the victim of gossip mongers as well. Hey Baby is rumoured to have a special dance number by Farah's close friend, actor Shah Rukh Khan! An apathetic Sajid responds to this saying, "No comments."

There is already one item number which was shot for Hey Baby last year, which features Ritesh Deshmukh, Akshay Kumar and Fardeen Khan being flanked by Bollywood babes Amisha Patel, Koena Mitra, Dia Mirza, Shamita Shetty, Neha Dhupia, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora, Amrita Rao, Tara Sharma, Minissha Lamba, Riya Sen and Sophie Choudhary.

The Khan-e-khaas

Meanwhile, a parinda from Film City brought some khabar early this morning.. Yeah, I know Shah Rukh Khan is shooting there for his ghar ki production Om Shanti Om under buddy Farah Khan's direction. So the birdie whispered that there's talk of roping in the other two big Khans, Aamir and Salman, for a cameo in the movie.

Yeah yeah, I also know that my sweety SRK is playing an actor in it. I'm told that in all probability Sallu might agree to do the walk-on part in the name of dosti with Farah and Shah Rukh. But I'm highly skeptical about Aamir though, keeping in mind his obsession for perfection. Hope that doesn't result in a kranti on the sets when he makes that rare special appearance. Halla mat bol!

Farah Khan shoots a song with 29 superstars

If you ask what is common in Manmohan Desai's Naseeb and Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om then the answer would be a song that stars all big personalities of Bollywood.

Farah Khan just finished shooting the title track of her forthcoming film Om Shanti Om. The song has been shot at Film City for over seven days. The situation is that superstar Om Kapoor played by Shah Rukh Khan has won an award and throws a party which is attended by all actors. Farah and Shah Rukh personally invited all the big actors of Bollywood and managed to shoot the song with 29 stars.

This will be the first time that Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt will be seen together on screen. Interestingly, Dharmendra arrived after these three finished their shoot, however when they saw Dharmji shoot, the three actors jumped into the frame and started dancing with Dharmji. Jeetendra shook a leg with his son Tusshar for the song. Mithun specially flew down to Mumbai from Hyderabad only to shoot for this song. This song will probably also mark the comeback of Karisma Kapoor to the big screen. She shot for her dance sequence after Tabu and Urmila. Sunil Shetty, who was the villain in Farah's last film Main Hoon Na was slightly apprehensive as he was to dance after Govinda's performance.
