It now seems that Shah Rukh Khan loves to follow Big B footsteps. First came the remake of Don, followed by Kaun Banega Crorepati and now Shah Rukh Khan will be part of London's Madame Tussaud's wax celebrities.

Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are the only Bollywood actors who are part of Madame Tussauds. Now, Shah Rukh will be the next Bollywood star to be the part of Madame Tussauds museum. SRK’s wax statue will be unveiled in March. According to sources, the authorities at Madame Tussauds contacted Shah Rukh through a close aide and he was happy to have his wax statute designed for the museum. Shah Rukh himself will be present at the unveiling of the statute.

SRK is currently gearing up for the television show Kaun Banega Crorepati. He is also shooting for his home production Om Shanti Om directed by Farah Khan.

Bollywood's Khan to star at London's Tussauds

Wednesday January 17, 12:00 PM
NEW DELHI (Reuters Life!) - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will become the third Indian actor to feature in London's Madame Tussauds, with the wax museum likely to unveil his statue in April, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

"Khan will take part in a sitting with Tussauds' ... sculptors in February," the Indian Express daily reported out of London, citing a museum announcement.

Khan's agent could not immediately be reached for confirmation.

Khan is one of Bollywood's biggest names and a heart-throb among scores of Indian teenagers. His waxwork would be the third of an Indian film star after Amitabh Bachchan and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai.

The 41-year-old actor, who made his debut in 1988, has taken part in over 60 films and bagged several awards.

Friday February 23, 05:04 PM What went into the making of SRK's wax model

According to sources very close to Shah Rukh Khan, his wax figure, clad in the costume he wore in 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge', is expected to be unveiled on April 3 in London, as per the tentative date made available to the Bollywood superstar. SRK is expected to be present there along with his family members.

Meanwhile the outriders of Madame Tussaud's arrived at Shah Rukh Khan's residence, earlier this month, to measure him up for his wax figure that will adorn the museum in London. Madame Tussaud's Attraction Team took minute measurements of the star.

Apparently, he was photographed from every possible angle in order to capture the details of his nails and toes, eyelashes and dimples, and all other relevant little things that his fans would die to find out. The team also carried a box of fake eyes to seek a match with Shah-Rukh's eyeballs.

Reportedly, Shah Rukh's face was marked by 500 and more pencil dots and every millimeter was measured. He was made to stand on a revolving platform so that they would have his 3-D images, including that of his back.

So for now King Khan's fans have to patiently wait for the eternal 'dilwala' to be unveiled!

The management of the popular wax museum Madame Tussauds, London, has now decided to make a 50-minute short film as a tribute to the life of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. The film has been named The Making of Another King Khan.

Madame Tussauds is a museum that commemorates the world's most popular personalities by creating strikingly similar wax statues. Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan have already been immortalized in the museum. Shah Rukh is the next in queue. It is learned that the museum wanted to make a narrative on Shah Rukh's life since a long time. They finally approached choreographer Bobby Khan for it. Bobby, who is directing the film, is now finalizing the list of people whom he plans to feature in the film. Some of the people who have been roped in to be a part of this 50-minute biopic include established names like Karan Johar, Juhi Chawla, and Aziz Mirza. Shah Rukh's celebrity friends from the Indian film industry and some of the leading ladies will also be seen.

The film will chronicle the life of SRK right from his childhood days to his struggle as a newcomer in the industry to his extra success. The premiere screening will be followed by the official unveiling of his wax statue at the museum. The film will also see a public release later this year.

Mohabbatein in Madame Tussauds!

Amitabh Bachchan was the first Indian film personality to set foot in the Madame Tussauds wax museum. After which, the crowning glory went to ex-Miss World Aishwarya Rai. And now, the honour has been bestowed upon Shah Rukh Khan. Thus, the Mohabbatein trio finds its place at the prestigious Madame Tussauds museum, London.

Madame Tussauds, a museum that immortalizes the world's favourite celebrities by sculpting and displaying their wax statues, has planned out a grand welcome for Shah Rukh Khan. The museum has spread out a full-length poster along its dome-shaped entrance, which reads "King Khan is coming". If that's not all, the management has also made a 50-minute biopic in honour of Shah Rukh, which will be screened on 3rd April 2007 - the same day when his statue will be unveiled.

Speculations of a cold-war between Shah Rukh and Amitabh Bachchan have been taking rounds of the Indian film industry since a long time. Despite their alleged personal rivalry, the two actors will soon be seen together in Ravi Chopra's Bhootnath. They may have not been spotted together at any event off lately, but will certainly reside under the same roof in the wax museum!

Shah Rukh's wax statue to be unveiled on April 3

Just a few days remain when Shah Rukh Khan's wax statue at London's Madame Tussauds museum will be unveiled.

Experts from the museum have already met the Bollywood star and taken precise measurements of his physical features, his face and his hair.

Work on the statue is said to be underway and the wax figure is expected to be completed by the end of March.

Reports have it that a rarisim ceremony has been planned at Madame Tussauds on April 3 for the unveiling of the statue by SRK himself. SRK will reportedly fly to London from Malaysia, where he will be for an awards function.

It is learnt that a red carpet will be rolled out for the superstar at the museum. Plans are also afoot to close the Baker Street for traffic for sometime so that SRK's fans in London can interact with him before the unveiling of the statue.

Sources are quoted as saying that SRK is expected to appear at the unveiling ceremony in a very stylish way.

Shah Rukh will be the third Bollywood celebrity to have a wax statue at Madame Tussaud's after Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.

SRK is waxed in London

On what can be termed as a historic day (or is it an overstatement), Shah Rukh Khan's wax statue was finally unveiled at the Madame Tussaud's museum in London on Tuesday.

Shah Rukh was personally present at the event. The joy and pride on his face were very evident as he spoke to the press on the occasion.

SRK is the third Bollywood personality after Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai to be thus honored. The wax statue is a spitting image of SRK and is touted to take the place occupied by David Beckham's statue in the museum.

Madame Tussaud's had hung a huge banner along it's dome weeks before unveiling the SRK statue and the publicity did not go unwarranted as a large number of Indians did turn up to catch a glimpse of the man whom they call King Khan.

SRK unveiled at Madame Tussauds!

Madame Tussauds witnessed a gala event to welcome Shah Rukh Khan, as his statue found abode in the prestigious Madame Tussauds wax museum. The long haul came to an end on 3rd April 2007, when his statue was unveiled before an excited audience.

Shah Rukh flew down to the London museum with wife Gauri Khan. The proud duo posed next to his wax statue, which looked like the întocmai replica of Khan, thanks to the precise measurements of his physical features taken earlier this year. Shah Rukh experienced a grand reception from the management.

As a part of the promotions, Madame Tussauds designed a typical Bollywood-style poster saying "Shah Rukh Khan stars in Madame Tussauds". The visitors had a chance to get their personalized copy of the Bollywood poster, after being photographed with the actor. Whether they would have been lucky enough to pose with SRK in person instead of his wax statue is uncertain! A 50-minute biopic showcasing Khan's journey to stardom was screened after the statue was uncovered. All in awe of Khan, the museum's library also stocked his pictorial biography Still Reading Khan.

SRK's wax statue stands tall in the museum now. It is hard to distinguish the real Khan from his imitation. The similarity between the two is simply outstanding!
